My SCA 120g rebuild
Well I had to move a couple months ago, and it did not go as smooth as I wished, so I broke down and decided to redo everything w/ a little change up on my scape and start all over again.
I also took this opportunity to cook my rock, it wasn't really bad but I did have some aptasia and bubble algae. It's still pretty fresh, and stark right now, but figured I'd document progress as it goes.

Hi, Dave
Your aquascape looks awesome! Sorry to hear about the bump in the road during the move. Did you end up losing the mag and the clown pair? |

I was running a remodel project and promissed to meet a deadline for my client, so I moved everything into new place and had all livestock in brutes to hold me until the next weekend, and the day before I was going to set up in house something must have died or swam into a pump is all I can figure(I had it blocked off but I'm thinking maybe mandarin or tailspot got through eggcrate) All I know is I checked daily and all was fine until the last day and water was milky white... Over 30 years keeping SW fish, first time I had a total loss like this ever, so now I'm back to square one...

That's a sad story but looks like you're bouncing right back up. I'll follow this thread. good luck with rebuild.

So how much rock do you have in the tank now? I'm not sure that looks like a lot of rock to me for 120 gallon tank.

I'm around a lb per gallon in display, and then I probably have another 25lbs in sump/fuge.
I've been preferring a more minimalist look for a while now. I ended up cooking that rock for almost 2 months so it looks pretty stark there, not used to seeing my tank so bare but it is pest free other than a little HA that popped up, now in decline thanks to CUC and a short break in light schedule. I'm just now starting to see coraline.

What are you using to light your sump, for that matter what are you using to light the tank?

All gear listed in sig, fuge light is a PVC dome light from depot w/ an LED flood lamp, cheap, simple, effective, grows chaeto well
Sump area lighting is a LED tape light that can be made to change color to what ever I want, or random color changing.
