Disaster

Woke up to disaster this morning. I got a six inch yellow belly regal tang on wholesale, had him in my 55 gallon quarantine for about four weeks now. Eating like a pig. Added in my blue throat trigger male and a tennenti tang. Started developing ich two days ago, so I started dosing cupramine. Woke up this morning and they were all dead. My trig is the last survivor and he is currently laying on his side gasping. I did a huge water change to try and save him, but I think I'm too late. I think I dosed the copper too heavy, too fast. Heart breaking.

Sorry to hear. Advise you qt only one fish at a time, unless bought as a pair. Every time you add a new fish, the clock re-sets, and disaster can take everybody. Copper is a chancy treatment: some species don't tolerate it as well as others. I know a 55 is huge for tank transfer method, but it is easier on the fish: maybe going to a smaller but very aerated qt with anti-jump screen might be helpful.
