Smile New SPS Corals

Hello All,

I am looking for some advice on keeping SPS coral, as I am new to the SPS game. I have a couple of plating red/orange montipora that seem to be doing well, but I am picking up a couple new corals tomorrow and some tips would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the three I am getting tomorrow: 1) Birds Nest 2) Deep Water
Acro 3) Bonsai Acro

Also, I was wondering what your thoughts were on dosing different additives to reef tanks. Some people say that they dose weekly and others say that regular water changes are enough. Do you dose anything? Do you feed your corals? I heard kalkwasser is sometimes good to add to a reef tank..... ??

Also, do I need to upgrade my lighting. I currently have two led 48" strips. One is a Fluval full spectrum and the other is some cheap generic brand.

Thanks guys!

Matt

First you need to test your water regularly and that will tell you if you have to dose anything (yes you probably will especially when they get larger) but DO NOT dump anything into your water without testing first please.

Also lighting will have to be replaced. That light might not be enough for sps..
