What do you think? Silicone seal issue.

Had to move the tank tonight to another area of the apartment and noticed a chunk of silicone missing.

The aquarium itself is used for my planted tank, and there is nothing living inside that could damage the silicone, nor do I used any equipment or cleaning equipment that could do this.

The tank is an Aqueon 36 gallon bowfront and was bought in November 2016.

When I inspected the tank prior to purchase it did not look like this and there is another area on the opposite side that looks the same, just a smaller scale.

I attached a photo of the chunk missing.

What do you think? I've never encountered this happening before, so not sure if its a serious issue.

I think it's fine, it's something that happens over time with most tanks. I wouldn't be to happy about it with the tank only being a couple months old. If the silicone is coming off already then it makes u wonder how the rest of the tank will hold up over time. I don't see it as a issue how it is now so it will be up to u if it will be worth it trying to deal with a warranty.
It's the silicone that is inbetween the panes of glass that is the important part. If u start to see air bubbles in the seams inbetween the panes of glass that's when it's time to worry. The inner seal that u show in the pic does help some on tanks with thinner glass, but it is really there to protect the seam inbetween the panes of glass.

Some of the newer tanks don't even bother with that inner seal and just use the seal between the glass panels. I wouldn't worry about it.
