So I changed out the lights to Hydra 52HDs, and I replaced the 2 MP40s with a single Gyre 250. The skimmer was also upgraded to ATB, and the reactor changed to TLF 550. I had also taken the tank down for about a week to laminate the inside of the stand and the inside of the doors, so as promised here are some updated photos.

I forgot to mention that I changed the bottom to white starboard at the same time, and that I am running a hybrid version of sand/bare bottom since as most forums indicate, people could never agree on which is better, so I went for both

Really digging your hybrid sand/starboard bottom. I'm running bare bottom on my current tank but miss the look of sand. Still debating on what to do with my new tank build.

Thank you, I have a Melanorus wrasse so what I did was pack the sand under the rocks about an inch deep and the rest of the tank bare bottom. That way it is super easy to clean and I still get the best of both worlds.

Beautiful tank but doesn't the addition of the gyre 250 defeat the purpose of your original plan of build . All I see is that cord poking out of the tank in the back now!

I know I know but overall I think with the layout of the equipment and cable management I am able to hide the majority of the cords. Got to say I am liking the Gyre way more than I was expecting, even in that vertical corner mounted position.
