Searching for a heater
The heater on my 75 gallon reef in progress broke earlier (came home to find my temp at 70, yikes!) I need some advice on a good heater for a 75 gallon mixed reef. Looking for something reliable and not too pricey.

I prefer the EHEIM JAGER heaters myself. Used them for years with great success and they are very affordable.

Honestly, if you want tight control you will need a controller of some kind.

Of course not everyone, but quite a lot of people go with Eheim Jaeger for glass or Finnex for titanium. Everyone is going to recommend a primary and secondary controller: Inkbird, Finnex, Ranco, controllers - RKE, Apex etc...
The Eheims have a controller built in as do some of the Finnexs. It's also recommended to get two smaller heaters capable of heating your tank versus one large one. The above recommendations are failsafes to avoid cooking or under heating your tank.

I've used Eheim Jaeger heater for 4 years and its a very reliable heater. I am in the market for a new heater and I saw that Eheim is making a new heater that goes to max 77degrees so hopefully failsafe from going up to 93degrees. I plan on using controller so I am not as worried about the brand but people recommend jager, finnex, on this site and swear by it.
