Is the Kessil controller always ramping?

I'm curious if the controller is always adjusting up or down (even tiny increments) to the next point couldn't you just use 3 points? One to turn on, one at midday, and one at lights out. If I set 6 points isn't my highest point at my middle and then after it hits that high point it's starting to slowly go down over the next period of time to the next point? Do I need to set two midday points to have it stay at say 60% color 45% intensity for the entire duration of those points?

It slowly ramps up and down to the different set points. For example, if you want your lights to run at 70% for 8 hours of the day, you should have a set point at 70% at like noon and then a set point at 70% again at 8pm. You use the other available set points to ramp up and down to give your dusk/dawn effect. At least that's what I do

That's what I figured. Thank you.
