Anyone has experience with seaside ES2 skimmer?

I just purchased a red sea 425 and need a skimmer. I intend to buy a seaside ES2. Does anybody has experience on it? I want a quite skimmer. Is it loud?

Welcome to Reef Central

I would read through that thread and see what others are using for that size tank.

Thanks a lot for the information. I know ES2 may be too large for my tank. I thought for skimmer, the larger the better it is. Is there any negative effect of an oversized skimmer.

I use to have a ES2 on a previous tank and it was a great skimmer for me. It was pretty quiet and wasn't overly sensitive to changes in water tension and always seemed to perform consistently. It's an attractive looking skimmer also IMO.

You might be better off with an ES7 though, I think the reefer 425 is about 110 gallons right? If you plan to stock heavily with fish then it's probably a good fit but if you don't plan to stock heavily I'd look at one size down from the ES2.

I would look into a 6'' body skimmer for that size tank. So I would check with the other 425 user and see what they are using.
