Overflow to skimmer

Is it possible to run a drain line with a ball valve to my skimmer and use that as a acting pump?

It's a etss skimmer uses downward force. Pump I have now works but is to small Rio 1100 and it pumps water to the too and jets it in

Are you planning to use a Tee/valve and direct some of the flow as the feed for the skimmer?
It should work just fine

Yes. My tank is not drilled but have a duel hob over flow box. Figured one line to the sump one to the skimmer.
