The DI resin will strip all the minerals that would be beneficial to your body. You can certainly drink it but you won't get any nutritional value from it.

The osmotic difference between tap water and RO/DI is insignificant in the "strip the body of minerals" argument.

Drinking excessive amounts of water very quickly could cause dangerous problems with hyponatremia (low sodium). If your kidneys are functioning well and you drink it more slowly it's pretty hard to get hyponatremic. Not impossible though.

As far as RO/DI being tasteless....uh of course. Pure water is colorless, odorless and tasteless.

2 reasons why one might not want to drink rodi

1. Its tastes terrible
2. DI resin is usually not NSF certified for potable water.

If you are a marathon runner, drink only rodi before, during, and after an Iron man and eat no food. Then it would possibly be bad for the body...

What's wrong if we remove post carbon filter and consume water directly after RO membrane ?

There must be some logic all the manufacturers are providing post carbon filter in their products.
