Something has created a burrow...
So it appears that something's created a burrow under a rock in my tank. I noticed a small (.5") cave going under the rock the other day and thought it was interesting. I wondered what could have made it, but also thought it could just be where some water currents meet and a hole got washed out. Now there's little doubt that it's a critter because there's another tunnel on the other side of the rock now.
The only inverts that have purposely been put in the tank are hermits, snails, porcelain crab, and fire shrimp. Those are all very unlikely candidates. The rock I used was dry base rock, so it didn't come in on that. There are lots of coral frags, but I don't really buy large ones, so if it came in on one of those, it was pretty small at the time. I don't have a clue about what it could be. What is your hypothesis? |
