Plumbing help

I am currently setting up a 180 DT system with a 75g sump and have two questions for ya'll

1) I already have a Panworld 200 PS 1750GPH that will have 3' of head pressure
And Im thinking of using four 3/4" return lines(already has two). bad idea?

I am thinking of drilling in between the two overflows with a 1" bulkhead near the bottom T-ing off that line into two 3/4 lines that would face the back of the tank, blasting the rock work..

I know.. vortech.. vortech.. Which I will add as well or even the Tunze 6105, not sure yet.

But does this sound like a bad idea...?

2) plumbing diameter.... The drain lines are 1" in the overflow with 3/4" returns to loc line.
I was thinking of using 1-1/4, in and out of the external pump, T'ed, feeding the 4 return lines as stated above. Or should I just keep everything 1" (drains and pump) 3/4" returns (x4). I hope this makes sense.

thank you !

I would just stick with the two returns. I may have misunderstood but u want your returns as high as possible in the tank. When u turn the return pump off the tank will drain down until the returns pull in air. So if u have a return half way down in the tank u will drain half the tank to the sump when u turn it off. U seem to know already but just use the returns to get water to the tank & not for extra flow.

As far as sizing the return plumbing, I would search for what your pump recommends. If u can't find anything then I usually just upsize by one size from the pump outlet. So if the outlet on the pump is 3/4" I would upsize to 1" & so on. If u plan on running any type of manifold is another reason to upsize the pipe atleast to the manifold

Upsizing the drains may be a good idea too. I don't know what kind of drain setup u have but by upsizing u can gain a little extra flow but it more then likely will make the drains quieter also. The bulkhead ultimately determines the flow but by upsizing the pipe u can gain a small amount because of less friction
