What brands do go to for dosing?
I'm looking into starting to dose my tank. Right now my calcium is really low so I know that's what I need to deal with first. What brand(s) of kalkwasser do you use?
Also, are there any other parameters you feel are extremely important to dose for? |

do 2 part instead of kalk, you can control the alk/ca lvl better. dosing kalk you need a fail-safe plan.

Kalk is calcium oxide or calcium hydroxide. It has self-purifying properties, so a food-grade product should be fine, as are the various brands available for the aquarium.
Calcium and alkalinity supplementation are the basics. Some tanks require magnesium from time to time. I'd measure all three on a reasonably regular basis. Every month or so for calcium and magnesium should be fine once consumption has stabilized. I might keep testing alkalinity every week or two since there's so little of it in saltwater.
