1st of 2 150 gallon tanks.
About 2 months ago, i got a 150 gallon reef ready tank, sump and stand for free, used of course. A Lfs was giving it away and i jumped on it. Its a 48x24x30 tank so its quite deep. But i was exvited to do an upgrade from a 55 gallon. Well after transfering everything over, some one was looking to trade a undrilled 150 and stand for a 55 gallon tank. Perfect right? I jumped on it as well. Still dont know which route to go with the second one, thinking a peninsula tank behind the couch.
Im pretty up in the air on equipment as well. I currently have a 750 gph pump in the tank, 4 bulb t5 fixture, 2 power heads and a bm curve 5 skimmer. Im planning on upgrading the return pump to something around the 2000 gph mark. What would be the best pump for this? I lime the ecotechs, but if theres another option thats cheaper and just as good ill look at that as well. For the lights, i need to replace the bulbs, there 10 months old now, and im getting noticeable gunk on my glass daily now. Shoud i stick to t5s? Heard they grow coral the best. Or do i switch to LEDs, ive heard good things about the DsunY lights. Whats the best t5 combo for growth and color? Heres my current stocking list: -2 perc. Clown fish -1 green chromis -2 PJ cardinals -2 firefish gobies -1 sail fin tang -1 yellow tang ( hes on probation and probably going back to the LFS for being to aggressive.) I definitely need more rock, and more sand so thats coming as well. And since switching to the 150 ive been having a hard time maintaining my alk levels. There sitting at 12. Calcium is at 480 and coming down. Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk |
