Kessil AP700 red and green settings info
I am new to LED's , and I just set up a new Reef Tank with Kessil AP 700 LED's. On my past Reef Tank I used 400 W metal halides . I have read through other posts, but I cannot find what Red and Green settings people are using on their AP 700's. Understandibly the Blue spectrum is essential for coral growth and coloration . I lean towards a whiter blue, and I set the color wheel in the whiter sections. I'm not so keen on adding red but some green would be beneficial. So AP700 owners please lmk your percentages of red and green and your satisfaction with the coloring of your SPS corals. Thank You

The AP700 has separate red n green channels.
Mine are at 0. Kessil added those because people asked for it n many did not buy Kessils because they feel the Kessils are not full spectrum not having red n green. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Guys, I'm jumping in on this thread a little late but am very interested in what others are using. I'm considering adjusting my AP700 scedule. I currently had it on a 12 hour day with a 2 hour lunar cycle. So I guess you could say that is a 12 hour plus 2 hour day. I had a serious brown algae brekout which I completely nipped in the bud with GFO. But I've noticed it begin to return, likely due to the GFO becoming saturated. SO it got me considering reducing my lighting schedule a couple of hours-10 hour lights, 2 hour lunar cycle at the end. The setting I was working on were very similar to the ones mentioned above.
What are the significance of the red and green lights? What are they for? Does one benefit something? Or another? when taking a blue setting and introducing a larger percentage of red, it reduces the blue and gives a more "clear" look. What is the benefit to corals? If any. I"m just digging for info to learn more about the specifics of what th AP700 is capable of. PS I noticed my algae started to return a little. Took a phosphate reading and it was zero. That tells me the problem is likely the lighting. That's why I'm hear to begin with.

Russ high levels in the red spectrum will definitely encourage algae growth . Keep the red level at zero and cut down on the photoperiod and intensity until your algae issues subside. Keep in mind when measuring your phosphate level, a Zero phosphate test reading does not tell the entire story. You can have a zero reading but phosphates are present and used up by existing nuisance algae

I experimented with them for a while but ultimately turned them off. I liked the look from a distance but up close something looked off to me, like I could see the red/green isolated by the shimmer.
