Vermeted snails?

I have a couple frags of zoas that are being bothered by I think vermeted snails... but i can't see the shells.. only the strings... I will post a pic of the zoas on one of my rocks and the strings around them... I zoomed pretty far in on one.. so it's just a Lil blurry.. but it shows what I'm dealing with.. any advice is greatly appreciated.. I've scraped the ones in the open off.. but the ones hiding in the polyps.. I'm afraid of injuring the zoas.. so I can't get those

I could be wrong, but from the pictures it looks like 'digitate hydroids'. Worm-like things that emerge from rock and filter feed.

I have them in my tank and haven't noticed them bothering a thing. However, a lot of folks seem to have issues with them... same goes for vermatid snails.

I'm not sure if there's really a good solution. With vermatids I've glued over the ones I can see as a precautionary measure.

The hydroids, I've just left. There seem to be less now that my tank is maturing. It might have something to do with light feeding and good mechanical filtration, but I'm not sure!

Yep, digitate hydroids. I have the same things, and have been wondering what they are for a few months now. They didn't appear in my tank until it was about a year and a half old, surprisingly. Maybe they hitchhiked.

Here is a quick video of what they look like.

I haven't noticed them bothering anything so far, but they have multiplied pretty quickly, and are starting to become a bit of an eyesore...but I guess that's a personal preference thing.

Yup.. they are deff digitate hydroids.. after looking through Google pictures and then your video.. there is no doubt . I only have them on that rock and one other frag plug.. I got both from a friend of mine.. so I guess they are a new addition to my tank... not too pleased.. but hey.. could be worse...
