Softy Tank Flow

Hello everyone Ive decided to take my reef tank in a new direction i had a LPS tank for the last two years, around 6 months ago i bought the IM abyss drop off that i had a vision of a softy only tank my question is i know Softy dont need much flow in the tank so is my MJ900 pump enough which is around 10x turnover rate or should i add my MP10 to this tank? I plan on purchasing a jawbreaker so i dont want an expensive mistake lol

Any input is appreciated thank you

Softies need just as much flow as any other coral or they are constantly closing/shedding..
And they are happier in higher flow IME..
I wouldn't have any tank at less than 30x

I judge the flow in my softy tank by the following
1. Is the coral tough (like a leather) or delicate (like a frogspawn).
2. Of course the tough ones like a moderate type flow, the weak should have they extensions waving in the flow but not blowing. Softies will tell you bad flow by not opening. Also by too much, not enough light.
3. Varied flows in different directions takes a bit of playing around with at least 2 pumps in different directions.

So, I say, ask your corals what they like in flow and they will answer you, just watch the delicates, you do not want to blow them away
