Sand problem

I have a problem with brown/purple crusty build up on my sand. It used to happen 4-5 years ago when I 1st started before I used RODI water but I've never had any problem since then. I thought this might be due to needing new filters as I was a few weeks behind in changing them but that has not helped. I can clean it up during a water change and even vacuum up to surface but it comes back over a couple of weeks. Water chemistry is good and stable and has been for years. Coral and fish health remains good.

Salinity 1.025
Nitrate 1
Phosphate .10
KH 9
Ca 400
Mg 1350

Any ideas?

Thanks!

looks like a mix of cyanobacteria and diatoms. Increase flow, increase amount/frequency of water changes.

I can increase my flow a bit in the morning and afternoon. I did increase my lighting a bit back in April to see if it would help a coral color, which it made no difference. I'll put it back. Water changes are 20% every 2 weeks. Not sure I can sustain increasing that frequency. Thanks for the help.

One more question, any reef safe reliable chemical option for helping to get rid of what I have now? Or best to just siphon off during a water change?
