12 Volt universal Power Supply for apex
Will these power adapters work ok on a apex classic. ITs a 3 to 12 Volt 600MA slide switch on 12 volts. Tested with volt meter 12.3 Volts DC "Center is +"

"should" be alright..
Pictures I found show the OEM one as 12V 700mA so you are slightly under that but I'd guess thats ok and "close enough".. but if you have one thats 700mA or higher than thats better..

Just plug the aquabus cable into a EB8 and your good to go.
Only time a power supply is needed is if you your using the older DC model power bars, or battery backups. Otherwise the base unit draws power through the aquabus cable that plugs into an EB8.

If the base unit draws power through the aquabus cable and not the 12 volt adapter why is the 12 volt adapter warm not cold when connected as if amp draw is being pulled from it?

Could be that if plugged in, it draws power from that? No idea, but I do not have a power supply on my head unit, just the aquabus plugged into the EB8.

Or just just the parasitic losses in the power supply.. Is it an older linear/transformer supply or a newer switch mode? Just unplug the 12v supply.. If the apex stays up you know it doesn't need the 12V supply.. Don't make this harder than it needs to be..
