Fish compatability - (Halichoeres chrysotaenia)
I thought their was a thread on this forum where you could post your fish stocking selections before purchase and get feedback if they would work? Saving many fish mistakes!! Can't locate it... so am posting here
I have a 4 foot 100 gallon reef tank with metal halides / 50 pounds LR / zenia / kenya trees / Zoe / Montipora / CUC Here is my fish compatability question: In my tank: Blue hippo tang yellow tang Mandarin 2 blue green chromis I want to add: Flame Angel currently in QT Vroliks Wrasse Hoeven's Wrasse Blue Spotted Puffer I was thinking since the wrasses were going to decimate my shrimp/inverts anyway... I could add the puffer? and can I get two wrasses or will hostility erupt? Neptune |

Those two wrasses are in the same genus and incredibly similar which can cause problems. Especially if they are both male! In theory it is possible, mainly because you have a larger tank. But I think you would do better with a male/female pair within the same species if you really want two very similar wrasses.

I am considering moving the mandarin to my 48 gallon reef. Yes might be hard to keep him fat in a tank with the wrasse.
LiveAquaria says 2 Hali wrasses can live together... but I am questioning that! |
