Skimmer overflowing from house painting

Hi. Could use some help with overflowing skimmer. Just had inside of house painted (latex paint/low VOC). Fish/corals seem fine but forgot to turn off skimmer during painting. Now it's going nuts and keeps overflowing. Took it out several times to clean, opened windows, ran house fan, raised skimmer about 1/2", but it's still overflowing. Paint was finished on Friday and now Sunday.

Should I:

Soak skimmer in vinegar bath?
Raise it more?
Put carbon in sump?
Anything else?

How long will this go on?

Any help/thoughts/advice appreciated.

Just leave it running and just let it overflow (its internal right?)..
It will be fine.. sometimes it can take days to a week or more.. But yes some carbon can help a bit..
Really though you just need to give it time..

Thanks Mcgyver. Appreciate it. It is internal so I can let it overflow. Just causes microbubbles in display, but I can live with that.
