fuge results. need Nitrate?
My fuge has been online for a few months now. 16" square, and about 20" tall. I have a Mars Hydro light, and a MJ1200 which makes the Cheato ball tumble very nicely. It takes a few weeks to go from a softball to a volleyball, then I trim it back.
My Nitrates have dropped to below detection with my Rea Sea kit, and my HANNA ULR gave me a PO4 of 61 (0.19ppm). The GHA that was growing in the DT is gone. I took the GFO offline when the fuge got started. Any suggestions if I should do anything? |

No detectable nitrate and 0.19 phosphate. Dosing lots of Alk and no Calcium. Healthy SPS, and marginal LPS. What would you do?

Not sure there is one, but I do see people wanting to boost their Nitrates to 1.0, while mine is “low”. I see the generic “LPS like dirty water” comments, without real numbers or science. Also, comments about amazing growth, color etc. but all is qualitative, not quantitative. How fast is “fast” growth in an SPS? How much light? Answer? “Enough, but not too much”. If the above numbers don’t stand out as anything really “bad”, and the tank seems “fine”, then great. Maybe check out my build thread to decide if I’m tilting at windmills and my tank is actually just fine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
