Return pump and flow questions

Hi all,

I have a 60 gallon display tank with a 27 gallon sump.. I have softies and LSP, fish and LR. Tank is about 5 feet tall with 3/4" return line and 1" drain

I have an eheim 1262 (900 gph) return pump, Tunze nanostream 6040 and Jebao SW-2 powerheads...

Is this too much flow? I just put in the new sump last night and am thinking of getting a DC pump to quiet things down..

Sounds about right. I doubt the pump is doing all 900.

isolate the pump noise and see if a little insulation will help with noise, if the noise is vibration.

You can use rubber suction cups underneath to isolate vibration, as well having silicone tubing to pvc or even vinyl to pvc will help with noise.

I like 400-600 for my sump, myself. If you have to much noise from to much flow, a DC pump is a nice way to go. save that eheim for a back up its a nice pump
