Biocube Stand, Using Wine Cabinet
Hi All,
I have had my 20 gallon freshwater hex on the below piece of furniture for the past year. I have now recently put my Biocube 32 on it. The furniture is solid (real wood and not particle board) and the piece itself weighs close to 200lbs with a solid granite top. What do you guys think? I know that the filled Biocube LED weighs 300 plus pounds, however, the Biocube stand itself is particle board. Amazon Link |

Nothing like grabbing a bottle of wine and then taking a few seconds to look at fish.. ya you will be fine putting that tank on top. The thing is can you deal with having a saltwater tank on top of it possibly getting water on top of it.

You *should* be OK. Solid wood so hopefully at least rabbet joinery on the carcass (dove tail would be even better)...
Stand is ~200lbs by itself - full of wine ~250, - tank on top another ~250 = ~500 lbs on a relatively small footprint. For my piece of mind, I'd make sure that the base spans 2 floor joists when positioned... |
