Does Marine Pure break down?
I was thinking of using marine pure in my current build. In a review section of one vendor I read that some people have had the MP break down and crumble. Anyone using it have this type of problem?

yes.. I've seen this often. they seem to dissintigrate over time.. not sure the particles are bad for anything...
what about using Seachem's Matrix? it's more porous and doesn't break down.. (i don't mean their matrix carbon)

The stuff that crumbles and breaks down is a cheap Variant of marine pure. Kent marine made a similar product and it had the same problems. I have marine pure in my tank and it looks the same as it did years ago when it went in the tank

I thought it isn't supposed to break down? Especially if it is placed in the display tank mixed / hidden in with the live rock.

I took mine out, they are missing parts, with to much flow and they can fall apart. I have the real ones.
