Stock compatability
Hi everyone sorry for the 2 posts in one day but I have lots of questions before I go back to the LFS tomorrow and i feel it’s betteer to have the info before. My current stock is
Comet grouper Purple tang Scopas tang Fox face Pink skunk clownfish Maroon clownfish Leopard wrasse Blue chromis (2) Blue damsel (3) Hawk fish Black spiny urchin Blue tuxedo urchin Sea cucumber Various snails and electric blue leg, mithrax and other hermit crabs Blue linckia star Pink and red starfish 4 different species of anemones including mini maxi, fairy and bubbletip I am wanting to add more fish and am definitely set on an idol but I am looking for others to add. I have already kept idol in past and adore them. Do you think a sailfin would work with my current stock. The tangs are the only fish I could see being a problem but they are pretty passive tangs. Scopas was added after the purple. He was more aggressive and bullied the purple when they were similar sizes. So we took the scopas out and placed him in a QT. The purple grew lots whilst it was alone in the main reef and is now bigger. We added the scopas back in after a couple months and all is well. The purple is the boss but is fair and coexists well with the scopas. The only problem is I would like a naso tang in my new Fowlr tank. He will be with angels, lionfish etc. I would like to grow out the naso in the reef before adding too the fowlr. Will this cause problems. The Sailfin is also only around 2” long and so do you know of Achilles, sailfin, purples and scopas’ coexisting? In a large enough tank obviously. Just looking for personal experiences of sailfin and them coexisting with the other tangs mentioned. I know it can depend on specific fish though but would like an idea of how they could be together. I would say the purple is around 6” and the scopas almost 5” thanks and sorry for the waffling lol just need an idea before going to the LFS |

Idol = advanced. There is a good thread in the fish section on them. If you haven't already I'd recommend reading through that thread. Worth its weight in gold. No idea on tank size so I'll pass.

The 525 XL is what, only 110 or so gallons? I'm confused - is this a FOWLR or a reef? And is the list you provided currently housed in the 525 XL? Short and direct answer is no. No more tangs even while waiting...
Unless the 525 XL is your QT the answer is no.
