Day 5

So today is day 5 of my new set up and boom it starts. What you guys think this is. I have never seen something pop up so quick. Seem to be right when my returns are pointing. I'm dosing with esv products and I'm wondering if this is causing a issue because my dosers are right in return section of sump.

It was a upgrade. So I was dosing what I was previous for my corals. It's 5ml a day both parts. I was thinking that might be the issue but I'm not sure.

That s why I came to ask what's going on. There's a few corals from my upgrade. And my tank was using up 5mls a day. I don't k ow if the corals are gonna uptake 5mls a day I just kept doing what I was.

I wouldn't dose anything besides calcium and alkalinity when needed.

^^^^what he said. Could be coralline is sucking up a lot of alk/calc, has a tendency to do that. If those are bubbles on the sand bed and being produced by what's growing on it I'd say it's dinos.

Yes the bubbles are there. And I'm not dosing anything besides the two.

I'm going to go with dinoflagellates then for what's on your sand. I would stop dosing alk and let thst come down and increase the calc. Once you have your params all back in order you could switch to kalk powder and it can help to stabilize pH. Just keep in mind do it slowly, start with your mag, then alk, then calc.

Do you have micro bubbles comming out of your return jets allowing the bubbles to catch on the algae. If not then it does look like dinos since they produce them by their self

huh?

Please define "its an upgrade"
What exactly does that mean?

Then please take a picture again but turn the blue channel way down or off.. Proper color rendition is important with identification pictures..

As to dosing you should not just be doing it blindly.. You measure consumption and dose accordingly.. And measure and adjust..

I upgrade my tank. So I took rock out of old tank a few gallons out as well. And added then to this system. I will have to take some pics when I get home tonight and I'll just leave whites on only. As of now I turned off my dosers. Also turned my lights off to see if this is going to help with the issue.
