Steel/Aluminum Stand Top?
As the title states, for those of you who have a steel/aluminum stand, what are you using for the top? And if you had to do it over, would you use the same or some other material? Reasons why?
Reason I ask is I just ordered a pile of 80/20 to build a new stand for my 120 upgrade. Wanted something modern, sleek. TIA for your feedback. Tank build is in my signature for those interested.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm looking at granite, but cost is a little high. ~$400 for a 49x25x1¼ piece.
Mind me asking how much did you pay for the Corian and what size? Any pictures of your 8020 build?

It's the name of a company that specializes in extruded aluminum structural shapes that can be joined to build a wide variety of things.
In my case a stand for my 120 gallon upgrade build. More info here... https://www.8020.net/

Very Nice!
Thanks for the info, that's about what I'm seeing in my area. I need a piece 50 x 26. Granite is ~$400-450

I used 40-4080 for the columns, rails, cross supports, 40-4040 for the braces. All joined with anchor style fasteners and my stand will be open concept so I wanted hidden fasteners. I have also incorporated a light support frame.

Building a light rack fro. 8020 as well. The lateral pieces in back are the bottom supports for vertical supports of lights. I designed it to be open infont but have a 1530 column to add to seperate the space if needed
