Invert qt period
Hello,
I have some crabs & snails in a holding tank and they have been in there for two weeks now as I promised myself I would qt everything before putting into my DT. There is only live rock in there no fish or corals and I've not added anything since I introduced them into the tank. Is it safe now to introduce them to my DT? or should I wait for the complete 12 weeks? Thanks |

If you're waiting for the possibility of ich to pass, the tomont stage (attached to sand, rocks, shells, frag plugs, etc.) can take up to 28 days before releasing free-swimming theronts. To be sure, I would quarantine inverts for 30 days. If a shrimp molts, it's probably fine to move sooner since any tomonts would be attached to the old shell.

It's the same for a fallow period in a tank. IIRC 99% is at 72 days and 99.9% is at 78 days...
I QT all things wet in a fallow environment for 78 days.
