Nitrates before and after addition of Algae Barn Pods and Ocean Magik

On Wednesday night, before adding the pods and Ocean Magik, I was reading 10ppm on my API test kit. Currently running FOWLR, tank has been set up for about 6 weeks.

I added the pods Friday night, along with the recommended dosage of 5ml per 20 gallons (40b, so 10ppm) and have done so each day since. Just checked the nitrates out of curiosity and they are undetectable by the API kit. Will be getting a red Sea kit soon, but for the time being, it’s what I’ve got.

Nothing else has been changed, no WCs.

Do you think the pods and Ocean Magik could have contributed to this?
