Water not flowing constant through rodi

I purchased a used vertex deluxe 100gal. RODI that came with 2 extra filters so essentially its 6 cartridges (not sure if cartridges is the proper term but im new to the rodi @ home world). I hooked it all up and when turned on I notice the drain side flows through nicely at a constant stream while the rodi water output does not. It fluctuates between a steady flow then tapers off to dripping then back to steady flow then next to nothing... As I have never had one of these before, does that mean that one of the filters (eg. carbon) needs to be replaced?

I'd also like to know what people are using if they have 6 stage rodi maker. Mine is set up for pre filter 2 carbon 2 di and the ro membrane. Do you guys use 2 different kinds of carbon filters. I've seen theres different microns available so I'm just looking to get some input before I replace all the filters.

Someone's wife sold this to me so I didn't' have the opportunity to ask questions as she was just happy to see it going lol.

probably the pressure of the water is inconstant, the drain flow seen constant but probably it isn't.
Have you a pressure gauge in-line mounted before the membrane? Or can you however measure your water pressure?

sorry, is your sequence carbon-carbon-membrane-di-di?

I believe its prefilter -> carbon then that has 2 lines, 1 into some sort of electric module, another passes through a 2nd electric module, then goes to the 2nd carbon then the 2nd carbon goes into the booster pump and from there to the membrane. the membrane has one line going to drain, the other one goes to another small module, then from that to the 1st di, then the 2nd di and out.

yes there is a pressure guage, at the pump before it goes out to the membrane.

Hope that makes sense.

I don't know why you have 2 lines after second stage.
I have, prefilter 5mc - carbon - booster pump - membrane - di - di.
Probably the electric module is a low pressure interrupter for the pump, I put mine before the prefilter.

However, you have a pressure gauge, whit this can you confirm that the pressure is constant?

I've seen this with a loose fitting post di. It could be letting air in so what you are seeing is the tube draining, filling, draining, filling, ect ect.

I'd recheck fittings. Post a pic of the unit.
