Tunze 6105
I just purchased a set of 6105s and a apex controller. Are the power heads supposed to be set up directly across the tank from each other or staggered?

You can do it however you want. Experiment with it and see what you like.

In general you want to set them up to hopefully have the least "stagnant" areas in your tank..
Thats highly dependent on many variables so there is no "easy button" really.. But with 2 most would typically start with 1 on each side of the tank and see how it goes..

As an owner of two 6105 and an Apex conntroller, I would suggest that you research your control options for this pump.
After I got mine installed and programmed, I learned that when pulsing this pump the level should never drop below 25%. There is a manufacturers note on this subject. Had I known this I would have made different choices. As soon as these pumps die I will probably be doing Ecotechs, which allow you to go anywhere from 0 to 100%. |
