110 gallon reef-safe triggerfish?

Hi all, I have been in the hobby for around 6 years, I have a very established 110 gallon reef tank with a 40 gallon sump with Refugium. I have two montipora colonies, a few Zoa colonies, a gonipora, a hammer, a candy cane and some acans. As far as fish I have a pair of mature clownfish and 5 very small yellow-tail damsels. I have always wanted a triggerfish but have never felt ready to keep one, I am of course captivated by the huma huma but this will likely wreak havoc on my humble tank. If anyone has any advice or experience they would share I would appreciate it, Thanks.

No first hand experience, but have heard the blue throat is reef safe with caution. However I think a 110 tank is to small for a Blue. The huma to my knowledge is not reef safe.

I have a blue throat. It’s been good so far, but I do feed 3-4x a day.

The three most reef-safe triggers would be the Xanthichthys spp: blue throat, crosshatch, and sargassum. They get too big, 10+", for a 110, IMO. What are the dimensions of the tank, btw?

You are right that a huma will wreck your reef and eat your little fishes.

It was about impossible for me to keep water quality up in my 65gal QT with my crosshatch pair. They are messy eaters. I'd probably pass.
