Eshopps Eclipse or DIY?
I bought an Eshopps Eclipse Large for my 75 gallon off of amazon, but then realized that the external box's lip is below where the water level of my tank would be.
If my sump is about to overflow, and I shut off all three valves from the overflow box, won't the box overflow? (Tongue twister!) If it will, I've been told about the Modular Marine ones that have the lip of the external box at the same height as the lip of the weir. But they are more expensive. My other consideration, to silicone a weir in, and drill the holes in the back of the tank with the bean animal on the inside of the tank in the weir. This option is bulkier and requires more drilling and more waiting (for silicone) but might be more reliable and fail-proof? Thanks! |

Or Synergy Reef Ghost Overflow
I have one on my new 120 build, running ~ 950gph (Cor20 and flow meters)
thru it, works fantastic! Quiet! Very well made. Removeable weir and they supply a spare so you can clean one while the other is on. Watch the videos. https://synergyreef.com/product/16-shadow-overflow/ Here's pics of me drilling the end of the tank. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=12
