Anyone with A.G.E Sump that uses filter socks?

My sump was custom built out of 3/4" acrylic by AGE. The holes for the bags are just shy of 6" ~(5-7/8"). I just realized Size1 felt bags I have been using have a carbon steel support ring. I've tried a bunch of other bags with no success.

Anyone have the same size sock holes?

I am debating on making a template, shutting down the sump, and routing for size 1 socks with a nylon ring. Another option I'm looking into is replacing the steel support ring with some sort of flexible plastic rod or having my machine shop fabricate some stainless rings...

Thanks for any ideas!
