flatworm? pods? invader from outer space? hallucination?
my blue accro had better days, couldnt see anything wrong with it, until i checked with a magnifying glass. I cant make it any bigger to distinguish clearly, but was hoping someone could help.
I dont know if those little microscopic creepers might be the cause or should I look somewhere else. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZUbgV7KsNLlGXmaI3 https://photos.app.goo.gl/iFvtx5UnGTtPaoWR2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/4d7DXiCIsHqGdZIL2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/1ZvmROCk0n9sGyv72 https://photos.app.goo.gl/I7i4ekKeGqi5Kn5G3 Last edited by gargoylenest; 06/08/2018 at 01:58 PM. |

Too hard to see.. at one time I "thought" I saw something with the shape of a flatworm.. Then I blinked

Yeah that is what I thought...stop blinking! :P
was taking a chance anyway, I dont even know what a real life flatworm looks like, but these creeper are really in the microscopic side (dont even see then with naked eyes, and last check, was 21/20) and I am not equipped with an underwater microscope yet. but thank for looking anyway |

Looks like red bugs kinda. Dragon face pipe fish and a fresh iodine dip will do the trick!

It does look like red bugs, which can be treated in-tank with interceptor. You might have to pull your CUC out during treatment though

from what pictures I could see (google), red bugs are clearly yellow, while mine are white/grey (1 point @NO3). I cannot go and decimate my pods colony, my mandarin would hate me for that. Is it possible those are simply pods walking around on accro? Is there a way to be certain they are red bugs before risking causing a major system unbalance?

If the acro looks dry and has no polyp extension then whatever it is is hurting the acro. Grab a turkey baster and spray off the acro when the mandarin is close by and maybe you will get him interested in the bugs on that coral. I have had AEFW and with the help of a turkey baster, my mandarin learned to eat them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
