Replace filter socks with Sera Crystal Clear filter media

Hi fellow reefers,

Have you replaced filter socks with Sera Crystal Clear filter media?

Searched here and the web, but can't really find any reviews.

The vendor states the product is 80% reusable after washing it out. I'm wondering how often do you need to wash it. It can get expensive pretty fast if you have to wash it every few days.

I just watched a video and I’m not sure about it. It says replace 20% of the media every rinse out for optimal performance. I was kinda hoping I could just wash it out really well and Re-use it. I get a long time out of a filtersock in terms of usage before I toss my filtersocks. This seems it could get expensive after a while. At that point how much different is it than using filtersocks or cheap pinky filter floss or a reusable sponge ?

I’m wondering how long it lasts between each rinse. A few days like a filter sock or a few week?
