Canopy Build Advise

Anyone have any good videos on a DIY canopy build?
I want to purchase a couple of lights that need to be hung and certain hieght from the water line. My existing canopy will end up being too shallow.
The Lid opens up at an angle from front to back so that doesnt allow me to hang lights, I don't want to remove the lid as I want the lights housed instead of hanging open to blind everyone. Also I have kids so I don;t want an open top
not do I want to deal with more evap. I have my current lights drilled into
top of lid so it moves with the lid when I open and close.

goal is to have a canopy lid with hanging lights housed inside. or maybe even create a ledger and the lights don't necessarily have to be hung.

Will the canopy rest on top of the tank?
