all 12 zoanthids frags closed up today.
i had flame angel for a while and my zoa's being fine all this time. last week i added another dwarf angel (black nox angel) and royal gramma basslet. Today came from work and they all shut closed.
water parameters haven't changed for months now. can it most likely cause from angel nipping on them, even though i have never seeing her nipping on any corals? ph 8.2 alk 10.9-11.2 calcium 400-420 magnesium 1240 amonia/nitrite 0 nitrate 20 ppm salinity 1.023 temp 79* F |

Zoas will do that on occasion for apparently no reason, although it could be one or both of the angels. Keep an eye on them, but I wouldn't remove them until you confirm they are the cause.

i did forget to mention, my blue hippo tang is a punk. once in a while he likes to grab the plugs with the coral and drag them around aquarium. (i have no idea why) and today i had to put 2 frag plugs back in place because of him.

If you havent seen your angel nip at them.
A. either keep looking more and see. B. it most likely is your alk or nitrates both are excessively high.

20PPM nitrate is perfectly fine for softies, they actually prefer it a little "dirtier" as most softies do. Although not obsessively high, I would work on getting that down to round 5 or 10.
Back in my biocube I had 40ppm and zoas grew like weeds! Anywho, I would just watch the angels, although I doubt they are the issue. Sometimes zoas just doen't like opening some days. Kind of like us humans, we have off days too.
