I don't think anything will be needed. It fits very snug. And by not making it permanent, I can remove it if need be. I was thinking Velcro when I was thinking panels, but this works better, and the outside mitres will stay nicely aligned this way.

Got the skimmer (Vertex Alpha 200) tuned up! Getting about 3/4 cup a day of dark nastiness....this is about 24hrs of skimmate

Looking good! How are you liking the roller mat so far? How difficult was it to plumb in? I'm thinking of adding this to my new 180 around xmas time and am looking for some first had reviews..

I am holding review of the rollermat until its run a while. It has not even had to roll clean material yet (its been going for 2 days). It was a bit of a challenge to plumb (make sure you get the conversion fittings). it looks like the conversion fittings are for 1" feed, 1/2" overflow, and 1 1/4" drain.

I am running it with the top off (ive heard that the dirty roll will not dry if it stays enclosed, resulting in it being too heavy and the motor getting burned out. I also plan to manually keep the float valve nice and clean to avoid it from getting stuck, which will waste an entire roll of material. Otherwise, I expect it to relieve a good amount of work (washing filtersocks)

keep us posted once it's been running. Good idea on keeping the top off. I was thinking to myself if that could be an issue.

My tank and sump were built by concept in calgary as well. Luckily for me, its my local LFS. Yours is coming along very nicely. I went with a minimalist look in my tank as well!

Nice I did not know they were an LFS, but it makes sense

.

Nice guys over there. I didnt have the best experience with getting the tank built/shipped to the US, but they did me right in the end. (first tank was damaged and took quite a while to finally get the second one)

Yeah, they have a really nice stock of fish and coral. Amazing prices for canada, and everything is healthy. There tank wuality is great, mines 4 years old now and still going strong! When i decide to go bigger then a 150, they will be building that tank as well.

After getting sick and tired of CONSTANTLY fiddling with the Vertex 200 (that thing was such a PITA), I decided to go with a lifereef skimmer. Simple, and low maintenance.

This is the 30" model, and should be more than sufficent....looking forward to seeing how this thing does long term!

The rollermat is def cool. I did make the mistake of accidentally unplugging it and the clean roll got wet. I would say they should have designed it so the overflow would protect that....other than that. I love not dealing with socks

It has been a long time since my last update, but I've added a while lot of stuff.... Including my first coral! As you can see, I still have a bit of an algae problem... But it's slowly fading.

Still fighting the hair algae.....

Several new frags that have been struggling a bit as well. I seem to make good progress and colors start popping, then more issues....i just haven't nailed the stability on this tank like previous tanks. I will get it worked out!
