Starting my build for a 75g lookthru

I'm starting my build of a 75 gallon setup...I have a nook that is 51"x23" that I plan on putting the tank in (see picture). I'm planning on cutting a window on the other side so you can view the tank from the living room and the office. I'm in the process of building a stand that will have a granite/quartz top. Looking for suggestions/recommendation/warning on my build. Thanks to all!!

PK

Here's the start of the build of the base and top of the stand. 2x4's pocket drilled, with a center brace.

Mounted my RO/DI unit in the laundry room. Initial intention was to hook it up to the washing machine cold water line. The 'Y' fitting I bought wouldn't play well with the hose adapter that came with the RO/DI unit and kept leaking. I'm thinking if abandoning using the washing machine line and buy a faucet diverter and hook it up to my utility sink.

Stand is built, now time to cut the wall to make the window on the other side of that wall

Ok, so, I've squashed the look through idea...I purchased a 100 gallon 48x20x24 eurobraced tank from SCA... I'm getting their sump, skimmer and return pump as well. Steve was great to deal with. Need to run a new outlet for my lights and purchase some rock and sand. I feel like I won't have any meaningful livestock in there until spring of 2019, because I want to do this right. I'll post more photos once I get more accomplished. I figured if I purchased the tank, that would motivate me to finish the space

Installed GFCI outlet. Tank will arrive today. Had to re-configure the stand due to where the holes are drilled in the tank. It's getting real now!

It's been a hot minute since I've had time to work on this. I'm planning on gluing some think plastic sheeting around the 3 walls surrounding the tank. Installed an outlet up high for my lights planning on installing a vent in the back of the cabinet.

Dry fit the plumbing. I'm using the bean method ( I think lol ). Gate valve on my return to fine tune and ball valve on main drain.

Water is going in. My RO/DI only does 50 gpd so it's going to take a while.

Looks like a fun project! Have you figured out lighting or stock yet? Are you running a refugium?

Yeah, I ordered the 48" reefbreeders photon v2+. I will set up a small refugium with some chaeto and sand. Lots to learn

Lights came in today. I think I'm going to end up hanging them from a shelf I plan to install a couple of feet above the tank. Overall, pretty happy with how things have turned out so far. Need to cycle now. The waiting game continues...

Tank's been up and running for a few weeks now. Coral all seem happy. My Jewel damsel and fire fish love to interact, but my banggai Cardinals just chill in the back mostly.
