Hammer branch turning yellow

One of my Hammer branch is turning yellow, is it sponge covering? do I need to worry about it?

Clean that glass and take another pic! :P

Tough to tell from the pic, but that yellow color makes me think it's some kind of sponge, yes. If that's the case, no, it should be fine.
