Lionfish feeding?

Before I take the plunge my question is when you go away will these guys eat pellets occasionally? I have an Eheim Feeding station. It says the Eheim should not be used with frozen foods.

Feed it live food sometimes that is my plan. or that not good?

Frozen Food Rods Fish Food; Krill chunks... anything else?

Just curious on how to feed it when I go away for like a week.

What species of lion?

I've kept a couple different fuzzies that both ate pellets, although the main diet should be bigger foods than that.

Most lions should be fine for a week without food too.

I am thinking of getting 1 male and 3 female mollies and put them in my sump. However, first acclimate them using a small tank. A good idea or no?

Great news that it's eating mysis shrimp.

Dwarf lions really only need to be fed every couple/few days. Mysis is fine, but it will take quite a bit of mysis...which is, again, fine. Larger foods like shrimp from the grocery store or krill are better. Feed until its stomach bulges a bit.

Live food is okay, depending on what it is. A baby molly every once in a while is okay, but the lion's diet should be inverts. Stay away from feeder fish in general.

There is freeze dried mysis and krill that could potentially go in an auto-feeder. Again, though, the lion doesn't need to eat every day. A big meal every couple days is better.

Yep. Feed every few days with unpreserved stuff from the fish counter at the grocery story. Buy a scallop, a shrimp and a clam. Cut them into small enough pieces and lay them flat in the freezer in a ziplock sandwich bag of ro/do water. You will get a month or more of food for about $2. Mine would never eat scallops though, they would spit them out. As long as you feed until satiation every 2-3 days they will be able to go a week without food periodically, though if you have someone coming over to check water levels and skimmer you could ask them to feed a bit of shrimp while they are there.
