Rise in Alk after 3 weeks stability

Hi all

I am fairly new to dosing, and have gotten lucky for the last couple of months with some stable parameters and healthy sps.

However in the last 3 days my alk has increased to 7.9 from 7.5 (it has been at 7.5 consistently for the last 3 weeks)

I am dosing aquaforest component abc (3 part)

I have changed nothing in the tank whatsoever, could anyone help explain this please?

Thanks!

Paul

Its likely that you are simply dosing too much..

Its also possible that you have some testing error or just the accuracy/repeatability of the test kits..

When you first start dosing you need to be testing frequently and adjusting your dosage as needed.. Plain and simple.. Stability takes time to achieve..

Have you been opening up your windows? My consumption always rises in the spring when I have my windows open which increases ph which increases alk consumption.

I only dose when alk drops by .5 1 point. I know that isnt ( stable) to some people but it works for me and my corals all 35 of them havent been affected.
