I've had a Skimz protein skimmer for 2 years. Biggest piece of junk! I've never been able to get it dialed in correctly. It's nearly impossible to get the valve to stay in position because the rod is not long enough. Constantly over flowing for unknown reasons and it's very loud! I've had enough. I'm currently looking for another skimmer.

i have no problem with the rod being to short on this one but its got a goofy discharge under the base thats adjusted by 2 gears attached to the rod and its very very touchy, its is almost silent tho, but that may be because out of the 20 speeds on the controller i haven't been able to raise it past 5 and thats it, valve all the way open, air needle all the way open and on 20 this thing shoots water out the top like a return pump, been running a month and the micro bubbles are as bad as day 1, so far I'm very disappointed, thinking about just scrapping the body and buying the impeller to make it a return pump
