So bummed -- Ecotech Vortech MP10 :(

I bought one and just submerged the 'dry' side in one of the chambers in the back of my tank for like 20 minutes-- in the salt water. My bad, obviously. I had it described to me how to install it but the person neglected to mention that side shouldn't be submerged.

Still, I should have researched it better.

I am very sad -- do you think it's broken? Any advice?

Not necessarily. One of 2 things
1- controller shorted which you just need to bug controller board these are not expensive
2- you lucky and no short happen
Just do not plug it in. Dry it carefully and wait until its 100% dry. Leave it over night.
Then try it. It might work

When you pluged it inside the water did you turn it on? If yes, what happend on the controller?

Nothing happened to the controller...and yes, I had it turned on. Very lucky nothing bad happened. I currently have it in a bag of rice and am waiting overnight. I appreciate the advice. Will do a bit more reading and see how things look tomorrow. Will provide an update.

It should be called the "seriously dry means keep it dry as in dont ever put it in water side"

Let it dry well.....it may be just fine..

I would consider rinsing it in ro/di water to remove any salt deposits and then allowing to dry. You just might get lucky

Rinse in RO/DI and then take it to a Verizon store, they have a dryer there, they charge about about 30 bucks to dry it out.

Great advice, all. Thank you! It's been in rice ever since 'the incident.' I'll be taking a look later today.
