20 Gallon Tank + 20 Gallon Sump Build

Hi,

I am planning on picking up those Aqueon branded tanks at Petco and was wondering if they are drill-able? I've seen mixed things on these.

Main Tank: 20 Gallon
Sump: 20 Gallon
OverFlow: eShop Eclipse Small (600 GPH)
Return Pump: ?? What return size do I roughly need? Need to pump about 4-5 Feet back up into tank.

My biggest concern is modifying the overflow so that it is safe and silent. The Eclipse Small only has 1 drain and 1 emergency pipe. I was thinking about the Durso?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

That size is typically not tempered (so its ok to drill) however they state on their website they may substitute tempered glass at anytime. They will place a sticker on it to note its tempered so just inspect before you buy and look for a tempered sticker.. IF not found it should be ok..
Note: That glass is already rather thin and prone to breaking just from stress put on it so ensure your piping and drilling process puts very little stress on the glass.

Thanks, feel free to chime on setup, or if there‘s someone similar. I will continue to research, but sump setups and plumbing has always been a challenge and new to me.

Edit::
In general, how strong should the return pump should be relative to overflow box rating? Thanxs
