Maybe the clusters can be saved... Here is a video on saving water damaged motherboards using a ultrasonic cleaner . Video
You can buy these cleaners pretty cheap on amazon... but corrosion may set by the time you get it... Good Luck |

Same story!
I was just done aquascaping my tank and hanging the light (xr15). Then I lost my grip and it fell in!I just put it in cat litter and rubbed it with a cloth. I am freaking out! $350 is a hard thing to just throw into the trash.

Dont throw it out send it in to be fixed, They will repair it for far less then you paid for it. Its the best option.

I dropped a AI led light in my tank. Like others said, take it apart, rinse in rodi to stop the saltwater corrosion and then let dry for a good while

My Hydra just fell into the water too. Thankfully the power cord disconnected when it did, and I pulled it out right way, so I don't think there will be any permanent damage.
I did a quick rinse in RO water (about the same amount of time it was in the salt water, then removed the cover, dried it, and put in in rice. It didn't actually look like much water got inside the cover. How long do you think it should be in the rice? Longer is probably better for the unit, but it's worse for the coral. Do you think a day a half is all right? Seems like a nice middle-ground to me. |

Corals have been shown to be able to handle 3 days without light without issue (common treatment for cyanobacteria)..
How long your light will require depends on the humidity levels and amount of moisture...

My Hydra 26 ended up not working, but they were still able to repair it--for $170 (almost what I paid for it, especially adding $28 to ship it there and back). They offered to give me a new Hydra 32 for $220, though.
