Question about PO4

So I’m setting up 2 X Water box 25 mini peninsulas.

I been out of hobby a couple years and have had reef tanks before but for the life of me I can’t remember how I dealt with it. But remember my water being .02-.05 all the time.

My water RO/DI is 0 on the TDS meter but when I check my mixed water in the tank with Hanna I’m getting .28 read.

Only thing that comes to mind is the new aquarium, rock (dry rock) or Fiji sand or salt (coral pro).

Please chime in, Cause it sucks getting old. 😭😭

Probably the rock, but you could always check your next batch of salt before it goes into the tank.

I agree that the rock is the most likely source. It is not uncommon at all for it to leach out for some time after initial startup. To avoid this, many people start their rock in a bucket/pail/whatever to get past the worst before they put in into the DT.

That you are already there is not the end of the world. A simple GFO reactor (think TLF 150 or similar) will easily help you through it.

Good Luck, and pictures please!
