we need some new questions.

Sk8r Salinity 1.024-6; alkalinity 8.3-9.3 on KH scale; calcium 420; magnesium 1300, temp 78-80, nitrate .2. Ammonia 0. No filters: lps tank. Alk and cal won't rise if mg is low. Current Tank Info: 105g AquaVim wedge, yellow tang, sailfin blenny,royal gramma, ocellaris clown pair, yellow watchman, 100 microceriths, 25 tiny hermits, a 4" conch, 1" nassarius, recovering from 2 year hiatus with daily water change of 10%. |

^ i wish i had your knowledge on this hobby, i could really use it to find out why my sps doing so good right now, but lps are struggling

If it were the other way around, I would blame the lps for spitting chemicals to discourage competition: they're good at that. But if your sps are doing better than the lps---and granted they're doing very well on an absolute scale, I'd say the light is probably better for the sps and the lps might want to be just a little lower in the tank...granted they are in the SAME light. i'd also be careful to put the lps where their water flows out without flowing across the lps.

Magnifying glass to spot pests on the sps? Red bug being one of the culprits. Google 'red bug sps' to see what it looks like.

On my DT ive noticed over time that my LPS slow growing or worse if not fed a couple times a month, and once a week really made them inflate big time, light does not give all the necessary energy, they need external food occasionally too unlike all my SPS that need nothing extra.
